Dhoni banned for two ODIs against Srilanka

India Vs Srilanka
According to the television reports, Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been banned for two one day matches. The reason for this suspension was the slow over rate against Srilanka in the second one day match at Nagpur.

Match referee Jeff Crowe awarded the ban to Dhoni after the match got delayed by about an hour due to recurrent deliberations among the Indian players in the field when Lankans were closing in to the target.

Either Gautam Gambhir or Virendra Sehwag will take on the captaincy in the absence of Dhoni. Sri Lanka won the Nagpur thriller by three wickets, hence leveling the series 1-1 with three games to go. If the ban will take effect immediately, the home team will be dealt a huge blow, missing not only their skipper but also a reliable wicketkeeper and the mainstay of their batting.
