India played a seven ODI series against England in England (2007). It was a tough battle which went into England's pockets with a series margin of 4-3. Indians were ready for a revenge. When England toured to India in 2008/09, India won the ODI series 5-0.

India played England again in a bilateral ODI series in 2011, this time again in England. India lost that five match ODI series 3-0 to England. As we know history repeats itself, England toured to India for an ODI series in 2011/12 and lost the series 5-0 to India.

This proves how hard fought ODI series took place between these two countries. India will certainly have an upper hand against England this year due to the home advantage.

Highest total in an ODI match involving India and England was 387 runs scored by India at Rajkot in 2008. Lowest total is 125 runs scored by England at Jaipur in 2006.
Sachin Tendulkar has scored 1455 ODI runs against England followed by Yuvraj Singh who is the second best. He has scored 1187 runs. From England, Pietersen is the highest run scorer against India with 953 runs. We really wish we could have seen him playing against India this time.

Andrew Strauss has the highest individual score record in an India vs England match. He scored 158 runs at Bangalore in 2011. The second highest score belongs to Yuvraj Singh (138 runs) at Rajkot in 2008.

Andrew Flintoff has highest number of wickets against India - 37 wickets in 30 matches. He is followed by Harbhajan Singh with 36 wickets in 23 matches.
