India vs Pakistan 3rd ODI Live Streaming ESPN Star Cricket continues as India will play for its pride in the third and last ODI here at Delhi. The series already belongs to Pakistan and India can just be satisfied with a consolation win here.
The second ODI was a complete debacle for India. Pakistan were put into bat first and they got a flying start as their openers accumalated 141 runs for the first wicket. This is a dream start for any team in any format of the game. Mohammad Hafeez was the first to go at an individual score of 76 which included 10 boundaries. Nasir Jamshed scored another century against India. He scored 106 runs with 12 boundaries and two sixes.
Things changed drastically in India's favour as they succeeded in clinching Pakistani wickets at regular intervals. At one time we speculated 300 plus runs but apart from the openers hardly anyone contributed. Pakistan were bowled out for 250 which actually was due to a good job by the Indian bowlers.
It seemed 250 won't be a big ask for India but the top order failed miserably again just to add to the pain of captain Dhoni. After a small partnership of 42 runs, Gambhir departed just to make us see some more tumbling wickets. Very soon India were 70 for four when Yuvraj departed cheaply. The only noticeable contribution came from Dhoni. He scored 54 runs not out with four boundaries and a six. India were bowled out for 165 thus providing Pakistan not only a big win but also the series win.
Indian team is facing a lot of criticism after a series of losses in recent times. Nothing is going India's way. One or two players performing well won't help the cause. The whole team has to click at the same time and one big win can boost the morale so high that the team can return to their winning ways. All India needs to do is invest some more time in the youngsters after the retirement of some big names like Dravid, Sachin, etc.
Dhoni admitted that with new rules coming into effect, it is difficult to decide whether to go with an extra batsmen or five bowlers. Because with a fielder now less outside the thirty yard circle and dew coming into picture, the part time bowlers are less effective. Dhoni also agreed to the fact that team lacks a good allrounder down the order.
Let us hope Feroz Shah Kotla's pitch providers us an exciting thriller between India and Pakistan which we usually expect and watch. India needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat and win this one for pride. Meanwhile Pakistan has already clinched the series and a win here would add to their joy as this would be a clean sweep for them.
