India vs Australia Warm Up Match - ICC Champions Trophy 2013

India vs Australia Warm Up Match

Update - India beats Australia

Another big warm up match for India as they face the mighty Australians. Indians have got a good start to the Champions Trophy plans with a good win against Srilanka. Similarly Australia also registered a comprehensive win over West Indies in their last warm up game.

This would be a bigger test for the Indian team as the Australian bowlers would be better than the Srilankans. Although Indian bowlers gave away 333 runs to Srilanka, Indian batsmen did a good job to chase the huge score with an over to spare. All credit goes to splendid innings from Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik.

Australian bowling line up is strong with three left arm seamers viz Johnson, Starc and Faulkner. Johnson and Faulkner have just returned from a successful IPL campaign whereas Starc returns from injury with good success against West Indies in the last warm up.

Indian bowling line up looked below average as Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma and Irfan Pathan couldn't maintain a good line and length. Spin trio Jadeja, Ashwin and Mishra got a chance to play but even they looked ordinary. Umesh Yadav may get a chance to play against Australia.

After suffering a 0-4 test series loss against India, Australians would expect better performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. They would very soon face England in the prestigious Ashes series. So they need big wins to boost their confidence.

Shane Watson would be a big prospect in this series for Australia. He is a brilliant all rounder who can provide regular breakthroughs with his bowling and amass a lot of runs with his bat. On the other hand India banks a lot on the likes of Virat Kohli, Raina and Dhoni.

We can always expect quality cricket in an India vs Australia match. Star Cricket and Star Sports 2 continues to telecast the match live in India and one can always enjoy comprehensive live score and coverage of matches on ESPN Cricinfo.
