India vs Srilanka - Tri Nation Series 2013 Match 3

India vs Srilanka

We move on to the third match of Celkon Mobile Cup 2013. West Indies after winning two of their initial matches almost see themselves in the finals. India and Srilanka will have to strive hard now to win and seal a place in the finals. With another round of matches with each teams remaining after this match, still its too early to speculate anything. But its better to win earlier than later. Hence both Srilanka and India would like to win here at the Sabina Park in Jamaica.

Indian team looked well in the first match against West Indies until they couldn't capitalise their good start and ended up with a below par score. The bowlers did a good job to clinch nine wickets of the home team but had to compromise with a one wicket loss. Biggest blow came when Dhoni was injured and Kohli had to handle the captaincy. It has been declared that Dhoni is ruled out of the tournament and Rayudu will take his place in the squad.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Umesh Yadav, R Ashwin and the other part time bowlers of India have to pull up their socks. Even Kohli has to make sure that the batsmen stick to the crease and build partnerships.

Similar should be the strategy of Srilankan team that is suffering from bad form of the key players. Dilshan isn't featuring in this tournament. Sangakkara and Jayawardene are the most experience campaigners but they aren't in their golden form. Angelo Mathews batted well in last match but he ran short of partners.

Srilanka has a decent bowling line up which includes Malinga, Kulasekara, Mathews, Herath and Mendis. If they all click in tandem they can make any batsmen's life worse. So a lot relies on them too if Srilanka has to beat the world champions India.

The outfield here at the Sabina Park is slow. So the batsmen will have to struggle for boundaries. The ball will keep slow and low. But scoring runs won't be very difficult once the batsman is set. Let us see who reads the conditions better and comes up with a winning knock or a bowling spell!
