India vs South Africa 1st ODI Preview

Hello cricket fans! Indian cricket team again follows a tight cricket schedule as they just concluded the West Indies series and now reach South Africa for one of the toughest tours in recent times. It is a well known fact that beating South Africa in South Africa is really really hard! Indian team performed well last time when they visited South Africa in 2011. They squared the test series 1-1, won the T20 match and lost the ODI series to South Africa. This time India tours to South Africa for three ODIs and two test matches. Cricket Country and Ten Cricket will provide live cricket streaming of this series in India. Ten Sports TV channels will broadcast the matches live on TV in India.

India vs South Africa 1st ODI will be held at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. This stadium was formerly known as the Kent Park. India lost to Australia in 2003 World Cup finals here at Wanderers. And who can forget the historic chase of  434 runs in South Africa vs Australia ODI match in March 2006. This ground has a long history of great matches since 1956.

Indian team was supposed to tour South Africa for a longer series but a series with West Indies was sneaked in which could accommodate just three ODIs and two tests till the end of December. So overall this would be a month long tour where India would also play one practice match. Please click here to check the whole tour schedule.

Indian Board of Selectors recently declared the squads for this tour. Indian fans are happy to see Zaheer Khan back in the team who has worked hard on his fitness during his long break. Cricketers like Gambhir, Sehwag and Harbhajan were again ignored which slowly makes sure that it could be curtains on their careers.

India has suffered heavy losses in abroad test series after the success of 2011 World Cup. It took them a good amount of time to recover from whitewashes in England and Australia. India, since then has bounced back hard in all forms of cricket. They defeated Australia 4-0 at home and also clinched the test series against West Indies 2-0. India has also won six ODI series on the trot. On the other hand South Africa is also placed comfortably well on the top of ICC Test Rankings. India is placed second. Indian cricket fans are happy with a nearly perfect year of Indian cricket with India on top of ODI rankings and on second spor of T20 rankings. Looking at this facts and figures, this promises to be a great series ahead.

Indian bowling has been a worry since long time. But if we look back at our bowling abroad the figures won't be that disappointing. With the likes of Shami, Bhuvaneshwar, Ishant, Ashwin, Jadeja, etc. it is certain that they would get a good support from the bowling friendly conditions and they would perform better than the Indian subcontinent.

Indian batsmen are in prime form especially Dhoni, Kohli, Dhawan and Rohit. They have amassed a lot of runs in all forms of cricket this year. They look unstoppable. If South Africa can't send these batsmen early into the pavilion, they are surely going to have tough time against the World Champions.
