Asia Cup 2014 Live on Star Sports in India

Here comes another ODI cricket carnival as the top Asian teams battle it out for supremacy. Five teams including India, Srilanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and newly qualified Afghanistan will compete to win the title of Asian cricket giant in Bangladesh. The tournament kicks off in Bangladesh from 25th February 2014 and it will continue to entertain the cricket fans till 8th March 2014. Star Sports will broacast the Asia Cup 2014 cricket tournament live in India.

In a round robin format, a total of eleven matches will be played at two cricket grounds in Bangladesh. Khan Shaheb Osman Ali stadium in Fatullah will host five matches and Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka will host six matches.

A big news for the Indian team is that MS Dhoni has been ruled out of the Asia Cup due to side-strain injury. India's most consistent batsman Virat Kohli will lead the team for Asia Cup. Dinesh Karthik will be the wicket keeper for Indian team.

Just a short recap of the Asia Cup history. This is the 12th edition of Asia Cup and Bangladesh will host it for the third time. India has won the tournament five times in the past whereas Srilanka and Pakistan have clinched it four and two times respectively.

Sanath Jayasuriya was the only batsman to score more than 1000 runs in Asia Cup history. He scored 1196 runs in 23 matches followed by Sachin Tendulkar who scored 944 runs in 22 matches. Muralitharan and Vaas from Srilanka top the wickets tally with 30 and 23 wickets each.
