South Africa vs Sri Lanka and England vs New Zealand today!

T20 World Cup Live Streaming on Star Sports in India

Indian fans would still be happy about the last night's victory over the arch rivals Pakistan. Unbelievable but true that India played nine times against Pakistan in an ICC event, and won all of them! The jinx for Pakistan continues. India takes a good lead in the points tally of Group 2 while Pakistan will badly look for wins in their rest three matches. India would love to win couple of more matches to seal a berth in the semis. Coming back to Group 1, it would be an opening day for this group in this edition of T20 World Cup. South Africa will take on Asia Cup champions Sri Lanka and England will take on the in form New Zealand.

1st match preview - South Africa vs Sri Lanka

Although South Africa recently suffered a home series loss against Australia, they are still the best team around. But the only issue with them is their under performances in big events. They are the  team to beat in bilateral series but in big ICC events they choke. The last big event they won was way back in 1998 when they clinched the inaugural ICC Champions Trophy.

Overall South Africa has played four T20 matches against Srilanka out of which they have won three. The most recent one was won by Srilanka. As far as the form and confidence is concerned, Srilanka seems to be one of the favourites to make it dead straight to the final four. They have a great record of reaching the knock stages but somehow they lose track after that. They would love to win this one under the captaincy of Chandimal.

2nd match preview - England vs New Zealand

These teams have a concern of playing against the quality spin in the Indian sub-continent. But atleast for today they don't have to scratch their head playing against spinners. Batting will give New Zealand an edge over the English men.

As far as the recent form is concerned, both the teams have contradiction. England saw a very little improvement against West Indies after a disastrous tour to Australia. Meanwhile a lot to cheer about for New Zealand as they comprehensively defeated India back home in Tests and ODIs.

For England Morgan seems out of form. Glimpse of good batting was seen when Lumb and Butler were on the crease in the warm ups. On the other hand Guptill, Taylor, Ronchi, Anderson and McCullum make a strong batting line up for New Zealand. Bowling wise both the teams are well balanced.

Couple of good encounters today in the ICC World T20 cup 2014. Don't forget tomorrow we have two big matches from Group 2 - Australia vs Pakistan and India vs West Indies. We will be with you tomorrow with another preview of those matches. Till then keep enjoying Star Sports live streaming and TV telecast in India.
