India vs Australia 1st Test

The impetus is back to cricket after the sad episode of Phil Hughes. A bouncer never seemed so threating. A broken jaw or a broke nose is what we had seen so far. But when a bouncer took Hughes life, the whole cricket world came to a standstill. Cricket fans haven't yet recovered from the shock, but ultimately the show must go on. Up in the heavens, even Phil would like to see the cricket go on. Grief stricken by his death, Australian board cancelled the second practice match. Third practice match went on and Indian team again had an upper hand. But that might not be the case when India faces the Australian side in the 1st test at Adelaide Oval. Watch full India vs Australia test series live streaming and telecast on Star Sports HD network in India. One can enjoy commentary live in English as well as Hindi. Every time when India travels away for a test series, many of the Indian fans have high expectations. Especially since 2011, India's away performances have been highly disappointing. Can this tour to Australia turn fortunes for the team? We need to wait and watch.

The young Indian team looks highly confident under the captaincy of Virat Kohli especially after a 5-0 win over Sri Lanka in India. But that was in India. How would the players perform in Australia is a different question. Not to forget Australia and New Zealand are also the venues for ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 which would also be available for Indian cricket fans through live cricket streaming and telecast on Star Sports.

Since the 1st test was postponed, there is a high probability that full time captains Michael Clarke and MS Dhoni may play at Adelaide Oval. Dhoni who kicked off his captaincy streak with lot of test wins now faces a lot of criticism for the team's away test performances. He gets another opportunity (and probably the last one as a test captain) to prove his worth. If the Indian team can clinch a test or two in Australia, that would not only add another feather in Dhoni's cap but add more confidence in the team ahead of the world cup.

Indian team can take a hint or two from Australia's performance against Pakistan. Their inability to perform against spin can add advantage to team India's plans. At the same time Indian batsmen need to cope with the pace and bounce of Australian pitches. If they can work on that probably we can see some upsets down under.

On the other hand Australian teams are back from a disappointing tour against Pakistan. After that the whole nation is still sad with the Hughes episode. A win at Adelaide will shift the focus back to cricket. The likes of Johnson would be pumped up to bowl a lot of quick ones to the Indian batsmen.

The stage is set for a high quality cricket series between India and Australia. Stay tuned for more updates on Border Gavaskar trophy.
